1. Cellular Prison- A National Memorial from the Colonial Era
This may sound bit gloomy but very popular Kaala Paani imprisonment of our freedom fighters were done in this Prison during the British rule. This is a huge property, is still a place of attraction and considered as a National Memorial, though during Second World War this has been destroyed greatly by Japanese. Still its glory is not lost.
It remains open for public between 9:00 AM to 5:00PM, while Light show in Hindi starts at 5:30 PM and in English at 6:45 PM. The entry fee is Rs.10/-
On all the Mondays for maintenance it remains closed.
2. Radhanagar Beach
Famous for its white sand beaches and clear greenish blue water, Radhanagar beach is considered as one of the best beaches in India. 6. Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park
This is a huge park as good as 280 Sq. Kilometers, you will get to know biodiversity in most eco-friendly way. It has 15 islands and 50 coral types with humid rainforests. You can ride in the glass bottom boats and enjoy scuba diving here.
7. Ross Island
The greenish forests of this island will surely impress you to depth. As this island falls under Indian Navy control, before entering all the visitors have to mark their entries. This island has the remains dating back the times of British and Japanese rule here. This place opens from 8:30 AM till 4:30 PM. Only for maintenance purpose it remains closed on Wednesday. The admission fees is Rs.20/-, ferry will cost your Rs.75/- while for video camera the fee is Rs.50 for camera it’s just Rs.10/-
From Aberdeen jetty it will take 10min ferry ride to reach the destination.
